Bio
bio:After working in the automotive aftermarket industry for over 15 years, selling brake pads, headlights and truckloads of anti freeze, I elected to pursue a long time interest in designing silver jewelry. After a short, but intensive study at a silversmith studio, I returned home to create a small studio and began to experiment. Building on locally successful ‘trunk shows’, Janet Setter Jewelry emerged.

about my work:
- · Pieces that nod to fashion, but become a part of your treasured jewelry collection...
- · Designs are my own and represent the creative use of materials and tools on hand and in the studio.
- · While primarily utilizing sterling silver, I have slowly been introducing a mix of precious and base metals for additional texture and interest. My work reflects classic accessory pieces that I love and have been updated for wear-ability in today’s fashion oriented world.
- · Clients are encouraged to find and follow their own ‘trend’, rather than following the masses; while many of my pieces in my collection are duplicated, there are no two that are exactly alike.
- · Studio created, one of a kind and YES we intentionally and love to show our SEAMS.

the story emerged from a little town in eastern oregon...
- · joseph, oregon to be exact, a bit south of enterprise, and an artists as well as an oregonian vacation retreat area. trudy lion, silversmith, hosted a class in her studio for three nights prior to thanksgiving. visiting my sister for the holidays, I ventured down and signed up for the evening series, where I made my first pieces of sterling silver jewelry. cutting, piercing, soldering, forging tools and more were taught at a beginning level which sparked my interest even more. a change of careers found me fortunate to be able to return the following january for a more intensive studio experience along with another apprentice.
- · upon returning home I set up my first studio, purchasing tools and raw materials from lists I had compiled while in the studio, and began selling through trunk shows at private homes.
- · many of you through phone calls, cards and emails have shared your compliments and delight in wearing my pieces - I truly appreciate that you have shared those great stories.
